Adult Scoliosis

Are most adults with untreated scoliosis crippled later in life? I was curious because as most people I want to get married, have kids, and lead a normal life. I am just so worried this might never happen. Any thoughts, comments, and/or suggestions on this topic would be appreciated. I really enjoy this forum.

In general, the answer is no, however I think it depends mainly on how large your curves are. Here's the abstract for a study on untreated scoliosis:
