I will probably have the surgery - questions

Hi, I'm twelve years old and my top curve (I have an S-shape), which used to be mild, has progressed to 45 degrees. I'm trying a brace but my doctor at Shriners doesn't think it will help. I feel kinda weird about the whole surgery thing, and if you (or your son or daughter) have been through it, please share your stories. I'd especially like to know about what it's like for you after the surgery. Thank you!

Have you visited the message forum at www.spinekids.com ? There are dozens of girls over there who are wearing braces, are preparing for surgery, or who have had the surgery, and they are all totally happy to answer questions.
