this story is from 2010, so I am astonished that research on this area has not evolved.

your thoughts on this?
AIS is a deformity. Would it be possible to reverse a spinal fusion for patients whose pain has not improved or even implant 3d printed vertebrae with artificial disc replacements?

That is one level so is not a scoliosis case. I don't see the relevance to multi-level fusions done for scoliosis.

If replacing the discs could avoid fusions in people with scoliosis then there would be no fusions.
