  • technical question: compensatory curve dissapears in first x ray post surgery?

when is it supposed for the compensatory curve to disappear after surgery?

Is it supposed for the compensatory curve to disappear on 1st x ray post op or it will take time for the compensatory curve to fade after surgery?

Hi. I am no expert on this but can tell you what happened with my daughters who were both fused T4-L1.

Their compensatory curves came to match the corrected structural curve and that happened before the first x-ray post-op.

So one was hyper-corrected to almost no T curve and so she had almost no L curve.

The other was corrected to about 25* in her fused curve and her compensatory curve matches that.

Does you compensatory curve match your fused curve?

You should ask you surgeon what you can expect.
