    Hi Jenni,

Why can't you dance? Dancing is GREAT exercise for people with weak backs... it is a great way to strengthen your back and all the muscles. Have you seen a pediatric orthopedist? If not, I hope you do very soon. You need to find out if the scoliosis is happening for no reason (called idiopathic scoliosis, which is most common in pre-teen and teenage girls) or if there is a congenital abnormality in the formation of your bones in your back. There are things to help you, if pain is preventing you from dancing. I hope you see a specialist soon - being sad and depressed isn't good... you need to find out for sure why you can't do the things you love so much. Keep us posted.

I'm a dancer with scoliosis too

Hey Jenni. I'm a dancer too and I've been told to drop my dancing. I used to go dancing 3 times a week, do all sorts of dance and do all the shows and competitions. It was a big part of my life but now I've had to quit because the pain is getting a bit hard to deal with and there is always the risk that I'll injure myself and do something that damages my spine. So I understand what you mean - I had to give it up and that was back in March and I stil miss it now. how old r u??
