I lost a lot of weight after the surgery, but now I am six pounds heavier than before the surgery. I wonder - how much does the hardware weight? I have titanium screws and stainless steel rods.

My surgeon said hardly anything-- not to be considered a factor in the weight area. I don't know about how the others will "weigh in" on this topic though. (I also have SS rods)71 and plugging along... but having some problems

I've heard it's very little as well.
Irina, my weight rose a couple of kilos in the first six months. I put it down to less activity, but after 6 months I felt really good and life returned to normal and my weight gradually returned to my usual 61 kilos and stayed there.Surgery March 3, 2009 at almost 58, now 63.

The titanium screws weigh very little. The SS rods may weigh ~pound.Never argue with an idiot. They always drag you down to their level, and then they beat you with experience. --Twain

Post-Surgery curves ~10 degrees, regained 4 inches of height

2 rods, 33 screws, 2 cages, 2 connectors, living a new life I never dreamed of!
