  • Linocut of Scoliosis Forest

That's my take on this linocut done by an Australian forum friend from Tasmania, Christine Scott, who had Scoliosis Fusion Surgery a couple of years ago and since had further surgery to reduce her rib hump. Christine's linocut Before-the-Graft.jpg

Details from Christine for those scolis artistically inclined:

    "Before the Graft, 2013
    reduction linocut
    96 x 31cm

I have just entered it into a national printmaking award and will know in July if I've made it to the finals. I have four in the edition like this one, and I also have three that are the same but a slightly different i.e. is on three separate pieces of paper making up the overall size (in keeping with xray dimensions) and colour background (not as yellow) so all up there will be seven. "

Christine has just applied to join the forum so may be able to enlarge on the above for those interested to know more.

I'm not quite sure I'm following. Are these pictures depicting the spine before and after surgery? Obviously the one you posted is a 'before'. Am I getting this right?
    Be happy!
We don't know what tomorrow brings,
    but we are alive today!

Yes, it's taken from her x-ray. She's doing two others that I know of, including mine. Hopefully she can get accepted here and can explain further. I am not at all artistic but I did like this linocut.
