Does anybody here have a fusion and play tennis? I have been playing tennis for several years but have low back pain from time to time and wonder if I should be doing it. I play at the 3.5 level which is fairly competitive. My fusion and rod is T7 to L3, and I had surgery 20 years ago. I have tried snow skiing since surgery but really am too afraid of falling to enjoy it----I am not a good skier anyway.

Hi,
I'm not quite sure what your asking...if your surgery was 20 years ago have you played tennis since??? I played before my fusion ...but now after I don't think I'm ready to play again or ever again,,,there is too much twisting and pounding motion for the fusion...I feel like I would be asking for trouble...I always played competively in leagues....I don't think i will again...CONNIE

Thanks Connie----My doctor says he will NOT tell me not to play tennis---he thinks it is good for me! Actually I think what created my low back ache was sitting on bleacher seats for too long watching my daughter play soccer. I know that sounds wierd.
Thanks for your reply and best of luck.Landra
