  • Home from Hospital!

Just wanted to let you all know that I am home from my Feb. 1st surgery! Everything went better than the doctors expected and it look like I've gained 2 inches!!!! My ortho thought he would get a correction down to 40 degrees in each curve, but he was able to get one to 25 and the other to 30!!!!

I'm in a lot of pain still and just can't wait for that 3 week mark when things seem to get better for everyone. The pain is mostly at the thoracotomy site and where the chest tube was inserted.

Well, enough for now...getting very tired and need to rest.

    Dear Heidi,

Welcome home!! It is very good to hear from you! I am so pleased that it all went smoothly - that is really excellent news about the new degree of your curve. What an improvement!

Keep your chin up and let us know how you are doing every once in a while. Will continue to pray for continued recovery. Have you got enough painkillers?

    Take care! Laura
