I am at three months and wondering will ever be able to bend to do my toenails and other things ever again? I am fused down to the hips.

It takes a while. I could barely do it at 12 months but now at nearly 4 years, it's much easier. You do gain a new form of flexibility, not from your vertebra, so I suppose it's your muscles which learn to stretch.

It was hard for me to imagine doing anything naturally again when I was 3 months post-op. I didn't attempt to bend at all until I was 6 months and I started doing so much more after that. I quit using the sock aide around six months and finally improved on tieing my shoes after a year. Be patient and don't push it until you have your doctor's permission. You will eventually be amazed at how much you improve, even after a year.
