So true, Kara - it does NOT define who you are.

A friend of mine has a 13 year old daughter, Jillian, who just started a blog about scoliosis to help other kids. Jillian was diagnosed at the age of 10 and recenltly had vertebral tethering. She writes:

"I am still the same person and scoliosis does not define who I am unless I let it".

You are two very wise young women!!

By the way, not to hijack this thread, but the blog is about to be up and running so if anyone knows a child, teen or young person with scoliosis who feels alone would like to connect with others in the same boat, please e-mail me if interested in learning more about Jillian's blog.

Best of luck to you, Kara!
