has anyone had any bleeding after surgery

  • #2
Yes! I received blood after both of my surgeries. Bones when they are cut into, tend to bleed. Some people tend to bleed more than others.

Teens tend to get their period the day after surgery. I got mine a week after. All the trauma makes our bodies do weird things.
        age 48
        80* thoracolumbar; 40* thoracic
Reduced to ~16* thoracolumbar; ~0* thoracic
Surgery 3/14/12 with Dr. Lenke in St. Louis, T4 to S1 with pelvic fixation
Broken rods 12/1/19; scheduled for revision fusion L1-L3-4 with Dr. Lenke 2/4/2020
Not "confused" anymore, but don't know how to change my username.

I aLso started about a week post-op and my last one was like two weeks prior to surgery. Guess the body is shocked from surgery and does strange things.

I started my period (despite the fact that I had just had one), the day after my first surgeries. I think it's actually more common for people to get their periods close to surgery than to not get it.
