  • contaminated steroid injections

anyone see the news about steroid injections in at least
6 states where people contracted "fungal meningitis" from
    contaminated steroids....?????
apparently, it can take from weeks to months for the
    illness to show up....
just a note to anyone who had the shots within the last few
months...as far back as June....to check with their doctors....

I am in Fiji and the only news in the Fiji Times was about Rugby and Cricket. Did they mention Oregon or Washington?

            Here's a link:

            http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/20...rning-expanded

            and a small excerpt:

<snip>What is not clear is whether new infections are occurring. Federal health officials are looking for, and increasingly finding, illnesses that occurred in the past two or three months.

At three clinics in Tennessee, officials are contacting the more than 900 people who received the steroid in the past three months. The incubation period is estimated at anywhere from two to 28 days, so some people may not have fallen ill yet, Tennessee health officials said.<snip>

And a link from an Oregon source:http://www.oregonlive.com/newsflash/...d25bb486025625

It does not mention Oregon in the current situation, only mentions that 3 people got sick from a similar situation around 2006.

I just had one last week. I hope they've cleaned it up since then.

just read that it was one compounding pharmacy
in Framingham, MA....sent to 23 states...
they suggest calling your doctor to find out
where they order their steroids from....
                FDA is involved...

CDC has a list of clinics that received the tainted
steroids from the pharmacy in MA.
