Hi,

I've had almost a decade of bad/uncaring doctors. I'm tired of doctors that say scoliosis is a childhood ailment or that it is only treated in children or ones who tell me I'm not in pain. I had an okay rheumotologist in Michigan, but when I moved to Texas in August...I went back to square one. If anyone knows of a decent doctor in Texas (preferably in the College Station/Houston/Dallas area of the state), please email me at para210@yahoo.com with details. Thanks, Para.

Hi Para,
You are close to alot of good Dr's .
Dallas has a good selection although I don't know any.
Houston has a good choice too.
My dtr had her surgery done by Dr Hanson at Texas Childrens Hospital. He also does adults and other spinal surgeries I think.
Do some research and visit a few at least. I know you will find someone that will work out for you.
Good Luck,mamakay

My sugery was done by Dr. Jesse Dickson who was suppose to be one of the best and was here in Houston, my hometown. He has long since retired and I too am looking for a doctor people like in Houston. My doctor sent all his patients to Dr. Hansen who was mentioned here in this post. My doctor was supposedly one of the pioneers related to Scoliosis so I do put alot on his recommendation. I have an appointment with Dr. Hansen in December.

If you're still looking for a doctor, check out the physicians at North Texas Spine here in Dallas; they are at Baylor. My own physician is Dr. Robert Viere...i think he's the greatest! How are you doing?

Hello!

I live in Dallas and just had my scoliosis surgery with Dr. Barton Sachs of the Texas Back Institute. Linda just also mentioned him below. I've seen several doctors at TBI in Plano, Texas for the past year and a half and they are all great. The entire staff has been so helpful through my whole experience with my back, from starting with very conservative treatment and now through my surgery and recovery.

Dr. Sachs has a great bedside manner which means a lot when someone is operating on you. My surgery was 1/4/06 and I would highly suggest calling TBI and seeing Dr. Sachs.

Good luck!
Shelly
