  • Doctors in Australia

    Hi from Oz,
I live in Tasmania and am considering surgery. Is there a list of doctors in Australia, preferably in Tassie, that can perform surgery using Cotrel-Dubousset (CD) system?

    Miss Pat...

Here are the Australian specialists who are members of the Scoliosis Research Society:

    Andrew K. Cree, MD Sydney
Ian Bruce McPhee, MD FRACS Brisbane
John P H Stephen, MD Randwick
    Ian P. Torode, MD Parkville

Be careful about trying to be specific about the type of implants you want a surgeon to use. While I'm sure there are doctors around the world who are still using C-D implants, they're actually considered old technology now. My recommendation to you would be to find a doctor you feel you can trust, and trust that s/he'll pick the right implants for your case.

    Regards,
    Linda

My daughter had her surgery 9 months ago. Performed by Dr Andrew Cree as well. If you have any questions just ask.
Good luck with finding a Tassie Dr.
        Best Wishes
