  • Could it be nerve pain?

I'm now almost 20mths post op and as mentioned in the 'bear claw' thread have been experiencing digging pain in my middle back. I'm now having awful stinging sharp pains, like a hot poker is being jabbed into me!

The area this is happening is still numb, could it possibly be nerve pain or the nerves 'waking' up that could be causing this?

Maybe it's wishful thinking as I'm so afraid it's my metalwork rubbing

I have an appt to see my surgeon on 2nd August so hopefully will have some answers.

    Sharp Pains

I get those sharp pains too and sometimes they take my breath away. I went to my one year post op appt last week and my surgeon said that it is indeed nerve pain and that it would come and go periodically for a while. He was reluctant to say how long as everyone's recovery is different.
