There are several "guys" on this board who have scoliosis. It is not gender specific. However, there are more girls than boys who have adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS, the most common type). I have a teenage daughter with AIS and an 8yr old SON with congenital scoliosis. His is by far more hazardous to his health than my daughter's is to her. Yes, boys do get scoliosis.

I think I remember seeing something somewhere that said that the reason why the incidence of scoliosis is so much higher in girls is because they tend to have a much shorter, faster growth spurt in puberty. This stands to reason since most cases AIS are found during or just after the growth spurt.
