Hi my name is Barry and I had surgery to correct my scoliosis. I found out I had scoliosis when I was in the 5th grade and I was placed in a Boston Brace. This Brace was horribly uncomfortable and only felt ok whenever it was so tight I couldnt breathe. My curve at that time was at 37 degree's. A few years went by and the Brace did no good what so ever. It was not worth the 8 hour days I had to sit at a Dr.'s office and get fitted for it. After 2 years my curve had tripled in degree's and when i went in for surgery I had a curve of 98 degrees. I had 3 surgeries and was in the hospital for a month. I was placed in traction and had 2 Harrington Rods put in my back.

Thats just a breif overview of what i went thru.

I will be willing to help anybody in anyway I can to answer
any questions you might have about the brace, surgery, post surgery, exercising, etc.
