    Hello,

Being in an out of pain medications is a weird state of mind. Anyway, while I still had two active brain cells going, I moved over the image of my "before" surgery image and placed next to it, the "after" image.

You can see it on my website:

    http://www.valley-designs.com/myspine

I gained at least two inches--so I am pleased.

Hey, how long do you stay on the pain medication? This Tuesday will be my three week point. I could start taking some tylenol or something. Probably should talk to Dr's office about it.

That's about all I have to say today.

Once again, thank you for everyone's advice through all this.

Well, your "before" x-ray is always impressive to look at! Can't wait to see the "after"!!! You must be thrilled.

People stay on pain meds for varying amounts of time, depending on how long they need it. Some of us have pain longer than others. I was on pain meds for 5 months. I always thought my pain thresh-hold was high, but this did me in. I think it depends on so many facets. Best wishes.

          Okay, got it working finally

          Silly new computers.

You will notice that my "after shot" doesn't have millions of scews embedded into my spine. Apparently my spine had already fused in certain places and the surgeon decided not to "break" the fused bone and work with what mom nature had done.

I will be meeting with the PA near the end of September--I should get an official "straightened" percentage then.

Either way, thanks be to God's hand, I am on the mend.

I am two inches taller so it seems weird to look at my toroso and see more "body"...in short, as the surgeon said, "I have a waist". Wow.

We have had five full days of rain. Looking forward to going outside for a short walk as opposed as to my indoor walking track around the house.

Thanks for the answers on the meds.

Oh by the way, another pricy item on my road to recovery: a different car. My little VW Jetta wagon with it's manual controls is not going to do the trick for avoiding "BLT" No Bending, Lifting or Twisting.

          Sigh.

You must be excited about having a waist. I know I would be. I couldn't even think of working on a computer so soon after my surgery. I couldn't even figure out my cell phone which was at least a year old at the time. Haha!
For some reason, I still cannot see your after xrays.

That was quite a curve you had. I am anxious to see your "after" pictures. I still can't believe the torso I see in the mirror is mine. I no longer look for tops that go on the outside when shopping. Everyone is different when itbcomes to th pain meds. After I blacked out atbabout 4 weeks, I called the doctor's office to see if I could cut back on the meds. I started feeling better when I was only taking Tylenol for the pain. Good luck with your recovery. You sound great!

With husband's help, my before and after xrays should show now.....

Okay, now I can show and brag.

Can't state the difference in the percentages, but the picture says a lot.

My apppointment with surgeon is at the end of the month. Maybe they will take better pics.

Sorry for all the false announcements of new pics....they are relly there now! :-)

Wow, your pelvis was so twisted in the before and so straight in the after. You have every right to brag. Thanks for posting for everyone to see the difference. Your brain cells will return in time. The body trumps the brain when it comes to healing and of course, the drugs don't help the brain too much. Haha! Take care and get plenty of rest.

Wow, you must be so pleased with the results! Take care and take your time with the recovery.

I know what you mean about having to make the pricey purchase of another car after this kind of surgery. I had to trade in my 2 door sports car for a crossover. I love my new wheels but I sure miss my little car!

oy--in anticipation of my surgery in mid-october, i have been taking my usual 'minimal' approach…no new bed, wait and see etc. BUT I hadn't considered my car…a perky convertable SAAB with manual transmission that was my post-children-out-of-the-house-get-rid-of-the-Mom-van gift to myself. So…we won't be able to drive a stick shift? I don't know if I remember how to drive an automatice (ha ha)
