i am a 33 year old female who had spinal fusion for scoliosis with harrington rods when i was twelve years of age. i am experiencing pain and stiffness in increasing levels with age. does anyone know what options there are for someone with my complaints.

Depending on what your specific problem is, there are various surgical options. I'd recommend that you find a surgeon who has a lot of experience treating patients with prior fusions. Where are you located? And, do you know what levels were fused previously?

It's perfectly appropriate to ask each surgeon about the number of scoliosis revision surgeries he has performed. If possible, you want someone who does at least one per month.

HI,
I had surgery at age 13 and am now 42. My back has increasingly gotten stiff and sore but here is what helps me. I do stretches EVERY DAY. It really makes a difference. I go to the chripractor every 2 weeks(I've been doing that since my early 20's) Walking seems like the best exercisr for me now but I used to do aerobics, lift weights etc... That just seems a little to harsh for me now. Reiki and massage help too. If you are conscious of taking care of yourself now it will pay off. Life is good, sometimes you just have to adapt your lifestyle alittle.
