Thank you, everyone, for sharing your input and advice. I leave in a couple of hours to get MRIs done and just got off the phone with Dr. Yoon's Atlanta office and will see a spinal deformity doctor July 27. I also have a follow up with my primary doc to get the heart ultrasound results on July 27 so it should be a busy day collecting more information from both sets of docs.

I've been experiencing spasms/twitching all along my spine, back of neck and throughout the back of my right leg. Have any of you had spasms/twitching? I've had a migraine for a week (hurts when I blink) but cannot take anything other than aleve and store-brand Tylenol until primary doc sees heart ultrasound results. My head feels like it going to explode.

Dr. Yoon's office was extremely helpful by coaching me on how to obtain MRI results on disc before I leave the office today. I wouldn't have know to ask for that onsite. I was planning to ask my doc for it when she gives me the results next week.

What will an MRI show me?

I’m so sorry about the migraine’s. Many of us here have had spasms through the years, yes they can be extremely painful. Twitching scares the heck out of me.....

The MRI isn’t going to show you much, in fact it will look like a t-bone steak...uncooked of course! (smiley face) Don’t forget the A-1 sauce!

It takes many years of training to read films. Radiologists are the experts at reading films, they look for anything and everything first, go through with a fine tooth comb, and do their reports for the surgeon.

The radiologists will forward the material to the doctor that orders the test. The burned copies and reports that they make for you will be your own copies and are for your own records. If you visit another surgeon lets say out of state, bring them with you. The beauty of having these records burned to disc is the fact that they are digital, can be zoomed, and can be e-mailed.

All doctors appreciate any dated diagnostic data.
