Hi guys! My surgery is in three days (April 27) with Dr. Boachie. I had the pre-op appointments (I had seven separate appointments!) at the HSS on Thursday...

details are:
Fusion most likely T3-L3 to correct kyphosis
Posterior only
Titanium screws and cobalt-chrome rods
Dr B is going to mix some BMP proteins with my bone (from the osteotomies) to be used for the graft.
Expected hospital stay in 5 days, I will be on Dilaudid (hydromorphone) for 2 days then off..they get me up the day after surgery!!

I will probably not be on here until after the operation, so thanks for all your support and help...it has been a huge help to be able to talk on this board...well..

see you on the other side!!!!

Good Luck ColdBricks! You will do fine get plenty of movies or video games you'll need them! I was never a TV person and now Im addicted to Celebrity Apprentice and Lifetime movies...my brain is mush but my back is nice and straight...dont forget the stool softners start using IMMEDIATELY. Biggest mistake I made...just passing it along. Thank God the weather is getting nicer so you can walk outside. I've been bundling up and walking up and down my block my neighbors are scared I think. Wishing you the speediest of recoveries and keep us posted on your recoup!
