of course there are a bunch of great surgeons out there!
start with Cedars Sinai...
Dr Pashman...and also Dr Anand, if you're interested...
many many others...
i just went to SRS resources on foundation site and typed in by states...CA
i typed in city..LA, San Diego, etc...
there were at least 6 surgeons listed for LA with "adult scoliosis" as specialty
My surgeon was Dr. Kropf from the spine institute. He does his surgeries out of cedars sinai. Good place to see some celebrities while your in their for your surgery. I got to see the kardashians, after my surgery. One of them was having her baby there. The top floor is reserved for spine surgeries and celebrities.
I hope this means a new start and new life Melissa. How have you been? Have been wondering about you.
Surgery March 3, 2009 at almost 58, now 63.

Osteotomies and Laminectomies
Was 68 degrees, now 22 and pain free
Thanks for all the information about doctors. At the most, we will be about 2 1/2 hrs from LA. My husband has just got a great job there so he is moving out now and I will be in June when my son is done with school. As I am sure that the Doctors are booking appts months ahead, how should I handle getting an appt ?
Thanks for the good wishes.
No, I am no better off now than before either of my operations. I am worse
suggest call now and book appointments with surgeons for after June..(first asking surgeons' offices about insurance questions)...
i think there are several surgeons you can see within a 3 month wait or so..
not everyone has a waiting list like Lenke
also...will your husband cover your insurance?...if so, when will it kick in...?
Melissa,
California sounds like a great place to move. Inknow you have had way more than your share of pain following surgery. Maybe a fresh start with a new surgeon is the answer for relief from pain. I wsh you the best of luck.

Melissa--
That is surprising news on the move! I was hoping the pain was better--so sorry you have so much to deal with. I hope too that CA might be the beginning of a fresh start and better luck with the back issues. Wishing you the best. Janet

Diagnosed in 1965 at age of 13--no brace

Surgery with Dr. Lenke in St. Louis--March 30, 2009
T-2 to Pelvis, and hopefully all posterior procedure.
All was posterior along with 2 cages and 6 osteotomies.
I hope you find a surgeon in California who can fix your problems. I think getting away from your previous surgeon is a step in the right direction. Good luck with the move.
