I'm trying to get information on the possible helpfulness of wearing a brace/support/corset to delay the progression of scoliosis. I'm 55 and have had progression of life-long scoliosis just in recent years. This has been very disturbing to me and I am seeking any/all suggestions for non-surgical options.

Are you in a wheelchair or are you walking on braces and
crutches? my twin sister is a polio, wears braces and crutches
and has (within the last two years) begun to spend more and
more of her time in a motorized wheelchair. She has scoliosis
in the form of a C curve which makes her very sway backed.
The move to a motorized wheelchair was made because of
the post polio syndrome. Would you like to e-mail her?
She attends all the national conferences for polios which she
can. She has good ideas and stays on top of information.
E-mail me if you would like to comunicate with her. She is
62 and living in St. Louis. Kathleen

Thanks for reply. I only use a cane when walking outside to prevent falls. I also use it more frequently no since my balance is off due to scoliosis. I wore braces as a child, until I had corrective surgeries.
I woujld like to contact anyone who has had polio. At this point, I need all the resources and support out there. Thanks!
