Hi there, im 26 and have been recently diagnosed...heres my long story!
At around 15/16 my parents were commenting on my bad posture putting it down to heavy school bags and then came years of 'stand up straight' comments! I had noticed that i had one hip higher than the other, a slight hump etc...but assumed that was just the way i was meant to be and ignored it. Fast forward 10 years and i get injured in work, doctor presuming a slipped disc so i got referred for an mri scan...no slipped disc but a tilted pelvis and my spine in my lumbar looks...well not too clever! I had sciatica when 18 and it went unoticed by my gp back then and after seeing my gp following the work incident he examined me, again not obviously paying that much attention and thought it was a slipped disc due to having shooting pain down both my legs, numbness from my backside down and alterated bladder problems...i had a feeling the mri would show a little bit more than meets the eye! Im unsure about the extent of my back from my lumbar upwards as they only scanned that region but ive been referred to a specialist surgeon that i have an appointment with next week so i guess i'll find out the true extent then. And i was worried at the thought of a decrompression operation for a disc...im now starting to feel quite anxious!
Sorry to babble on too!
