  • Book on Weight Training

I started back to the gym this week, but I am scared to do some of the exercises I used to do. Does anybody have any information on weight training after scoliosis surgery. I have been looking for books, but cannot locate any. I want to strengthen my back and gain muscle. Actually, I want to gain muscle in general, but cannot find any books on doing it safely. Any help would be appreciated. All my doctors (6 of them) have instructed me to do cardio and light weights. They are not specific on what kind of exercises I should do, they just tell me not to over do it.

I don't know of any specific books on this topic, but let me tell you, when you do 'over-do' it--you'll know it! Sometimes I get carried away and do a little more than I should and boy do I ever know it the next day.

My only advice is go slow; build yourself up over time. This is not the time to push yourself like you used to.
