Neat idea. I doubt I'll be able to get my son to wear one though. :p

They should make necklaces too. It's important that caregivers know there are spinal implants in case of an accident or other emergency.

I found a site that has a lot of different styles, including masculine sportbands with a leather patch, and feminine nylon bands in different colors. I didn't know there were so many kinds out there!

I hope I'm allowed to post links ... it's called "American Medical ID"

This is the main page:
http://www.americanmedical-id.com/
And this is the one with the guy-style sportbands:
http://www.americanmedical-id.com/marketplace/category.php?sel_pullid=177

(This is just informational; I'm not associated with this site in any way.)

Now those "manly" wristbands are very nice and I could totally see my son or other males wearing them. Thanks for the link.

Kennedy, when you say that your dad got you a medical charm for your charm bracelet, don't you think it's going to be a little difficult for emergency folk to see b/c of all the other charms on the bracelet? My daughter used to have one of those charm bracelets and we'd often pick up little charms here and there to add on to it but the charms were really little and there were so many. Maybe yours is different? Just wondering.

I just got a bracelet from "Medic Alert". On the back side important medical info is listed along with an 800 phone number. I take gabapentin and if I were to miss a few doses, I could have convulsions, so I felt it was important to wear a special bracelet in case of emergencies.

Hi Kennedy ~

This is a great idea and a reminder that I should order that charm I intended to order a few months ago!

I'm including a link to another medical ID site - just another option. Isn't the internet great!? :)

This is a great site too! For the guys out there they have leather bands, nylon camo, and even puka shell bracelets. And for the feminine types, TONS of pretty bead bracelets along with slim leather bands in great colors. I never realized a medical ID bracelet can also be a fashion statement. Thanks, Julie!
