My daughter Kyra had growth rods inserted on Nov 16th from T4 to L4. She was supposed to be home within four days. We were there for nine. She developed an ileus in her stomach and looked like she was eight months pregnant. They had to place a nasogastric tube in her to release all the air that had accumulated. Then we started having issues with blood in the urine. This poor child had a horrible week. The pain was alot worse than expected and she went through alot. Wish that our surgeon would have prepared us a little better for what to expect. We are finally home and she is doing alot better. She is on liquid Roxicet for pain and that seems to work pretty well. Her curve went from 68 to 25. pretty awesome correction. She is wearing a TLSO brace for at least 3 to 6 months, which she said actually makes her back feel better. If anyone else is going to be having this done please message me. I can give you a list of questions to ask your surgeon beforehand.

You're poor little daughter and on six. Sounds like she's been through so much for her young age. I do hope she is finally on the mend.
