  • 6 month post-surgery appointment

I went to my surgeon, Dr. Herkowitz, yesterday for my 6 month post-surgery check up. He was pleased that my spinal fusion is close to solid, lifted all restrictions and said I don't need to come back for 6 months. My x-rays still look great too, no movement since surgery. The past 2 weeks I really feel like I turned the corner. I am feeling good! Such an awesome realization. I am staying part-time at work until first week of January. I still get sore and stiff muscles, but every few weeks there is a big improvement. I have no pain, just a stiffness. Those of you in the early stages of recovery, just know one day you are going to wake up and realize, you feel better.
Excited to share a positive story!

What great news Shari! You have been an inspiration to me. I can't WAIT to be 6 months post op. I'm only 5 weeks and find myself getting a bit impatient and I can't wait to get my independence back.

Congrats to you on your excellent recovery! Happy Friday!
