Did you hurt your back? Do you have any pain other than your muscle spasms you've been having? If so, tell the surgeon you are seeing tomorrow. How do you feel? Are you sore? The hardware likely held, but I assume that muscle soreness would be normal.

because i would be willing to bet you could a doctor to get you an exemption!
i used to get a lot of bladder infections, didnt want to deal with (required) swimming in college...got a permanent exemption for all 4 years!
just something to think about...
