  • Pain during the healing process

Hi. I'm 2 weeks and 5 days post op and for the past 3 days I have been sore in one particular area, my lower right side. Of course I'm wondering if I twisted or if a screw pulled loose. The incision area looks good so it doesn't look like any kind of infection. It's probably just part of the healing process but did anyone else experience this? I don't seem to be in much pain anywhere else. I guess if it continues I'll call or email Bernie at Dr. Bridwell's office. But I hate to bug them with stupid questions; I'll just bug all of you with them!

    First of all Lisa,

There are no stupid questions when it come to this surgery. You paid good money to have your answers addressed as well. I am not a Doctor, but I remember different pains coming and eventually going. For me it was nerves coming back to life or waking up.

Never feel stupid for calling your Doctor,

        Hi Lisa,

I don't recall a pain like the one your describing, however, what I do remember is that as time when on, the pains changed as I healed and the rest of my body adjusted to it's new self. When is your followup? You can always call them and ask early.

Lisa, you're reducing your meds, aren't you? Perhaps it's simply that the soreness is no longer being masked by the painkillers and just part and parcel of healing.

And yes, pain can rise and fall during the healing process.

I would probably email Bernie. I'm sure she gets questions like that all the time. Hope you feel better!
