I saw the DR today. He is still pretty concerned with my gait. It has improved since my 6 week follow-up and my X-rays show that I am standing up straighter as well. Hopefully, I will continue to improve as I am still leaning forward when I walk. I am continuing with therapy twice a week as I am going back to work next week (yikes, but I am out of $$$$). The Dr. said I will just have to "be smart" and I intend to be. I am also starting some new streches for my hip flexors which my Dr said are very tight and electrical stimulation for my scapula. I tried the ES yesterday at PT and it helped a lot. Thanks everyone for your support .

Best wishes as you head back to work, Janet. That is such a big step!!! That is good that the x-rays show you are standing straighter. Just sorry your gait is still a concern. Hopefully it just needs more time. When do you go back for your next appointment? Will you be able to continue with PT while you work? What kind of job is it? I'll sure be thinking of you!

My next appt. is in 3 months unless I need to return sooner. My Pt will be 2 days a week. I work 3 12 hour days a week as I am a RN. I will be working every other day. I do get chances to sit and chart quite frequently. Yes, it is a big step. Hopefully it will only increase my endurance and strength. Everyone at work is aware of my condition and will help with the hard stuff.

        hi Janet
i hope you get better and better as the weeks go by!

any chance you have an interest in administration? i guess it might be boring compared to nursing in the field, but i bet it is way less taxing on the body!

        just a thought...

        best regards...

No interest in that. Too much butt kissing while making everyone else miserable(ha ha). Not to mention boring. Thanks anyway. I have thought of less physically active jobs but want to see how I do. My floor is not too bad and could be a lot worse than others so I wanna give it a try. I recover and prepare patients having invasive cardiac procedures so "most" of my patients are in pretty good shape.

            Hi Jan,

You are an inspiration to me and I admire you greatly. Best of luck to you as you return to work--try to rest as much as you can. I should hope your co-workers will want to take good care of you, too, and let you take it a little easy at first.

Please let us know how things are going.

            Take care,

The hip flexor stretches already seem to be helping me walk straighter (fingers crossed)!
