  • Almost 4 month check up

I met with my surgeon today for the almost 4 months check-up. He took xrays and confirmed my curve is only 13 degrees now! Was 62 degrees pre-surgery! Still have a little wing in back, but very little hump. Also lifted most of my restrictions and I am heading back to work part-time on August 18. He said if working is too hard he'll write me back off again. He said I could start working out harder at the gym, being smart about it.
So life is slowly getting back to normal. He even said I could be drinking wine again! Yeah!
I know I have mentioned this but my surgeon is wonderful. He actually has written the text books other medical professionals use for spinal reconstruction.
(just had to give him a plug)
Thanks again for this wonderful community of support. It has helped me get through this amazing experience!!

Shari - What wonderful news from your surgeon. A 62 degree curve reduced to 13? That's incredible. What a journey you have been through. Like others have already said, enjoy that glass of wine - I bet it will be the best tasting wine you have ever had.

What wonderful news, Shari!! Thanks for sharing. I love to read posts about great news. It is good to see that your curve reduced even more from your last visit. I actually started a thread on this forum a few days ago asking if it was possible for the degree of the curves to reduce even more as time goes by and your post shows it can happen! 13 degrees is a wonderful correction!!! So happy for you.

              Take care,
