  • NYT reference gives excellent overview of scoliosis surgery

It's more slanted to information about young people having surgery, but many of the points are ones I only picked up here after months of membership. This is a good summary with many helpful facts lost in the cracks with most online reports (they tend to be either too general or too random in their specificity).

Surprisingly useful in a practical way, especially for people just starting out or who want to explain things to relatives/friends. Besides, I always appreciate lucidity in summarizing complex issues I'm dealing with, even if I haven't actually learned anything new. It helps me think in a more orderly way - hard, when it's a subject fraught with anxiety for me. The related inks are good too, but the surgery link was the one that most struck me by its clarity and utility.

Not all diagnosed (still having tests and consults) but so far:
    Ehler-Danlos (hyper-mobility) syndrome, 69 - somehow,
    main curve L Cobb 60, compensating T curve ~ 30
Flat back, marked lumbar kyphosis (grade?) Spondilolisthesis - everyone gives this a different grade too. Cervical stenosis op'd 3-07, minimally invasive
