Dear all,
I am new to this forum and want to say thank you for being willing to share your experiences. I am anticipating spinal fusion surgery in a couple of months. Reading your posts has not changed my mind about scheduling surgery. Nevertheless, it is sobering to realize what I will undergo. I'm willing to take that chance and feel that surgery is my best option.

Hi Brenda, welcome to the forum, I also per my surgeon's suggestion, came onto this site just when I was about to schedule surgery. As you have already gained some insight as to what this surgery will be, you will even get the support after, keep on posting.

Welcome Brenda! I'm glad you find us helpful. I have found this forum helpful as well. My scoli just started progressing two years ago at quite a rapid rate. My regular surgeon wants me to wait until I'm 60 degrees, but I'm having a surgical consult with another doctor in August. Yes, it's a scary prospect. I'm hoping it will halt the progression of my spine and the progression of my pain. I'm looking forward to hearing more about you! ...that sounded weird, nothing meant by that. :o

Hi Brenda -
Welcome to the forum! :)

We're here to help. Collectively, I learned so much from the members of this forum every step of the way. I wanted to know as much as I could before my surgery and I spent many hours reading before I ever posted. And after the surgery it was (and still is) a great source of support - when no one around you seems to understand what you're going through - we do!

Looking forward to getting to know you!
