I haven't been posting very much lately because I've been having some problems the past month or so. I just went to my OB/GYN because of the problems and now she has me going for blood work for my thyroid and pituitary. What if it comes back that I have hypothyroidism (which is what I think it is)? My surgery is August 5th. Is this going to cause a problem? I really don't want to delay my surgery.

Tiffany--I'm just guessing that it shouldn't make a difference. I have taken thyroid and I just had to stop it a few days before. If they get your level OK, I think it would be no problem. I am not sure but there are many on here with more medical expertise than me that can probably help. JanetJanet

Thanks Janet! I'm sure I'm just freaking out because even though my surgery is still 6 weeks away, it feels so close to me. I have a count down on my cubicle wall that's how excited I am to do the surgery. I was nearly in tears from the thought of it being delayed.
BTW, my daughter's nickname is Doodles!Tiffany K

I'm just curious where you are having your surgery, with what doc? I have curves almost exactly the same size as yours and significant pain and am having trouble finding a doctor that will listen to me. I'm double thoracic with 46* upper and 38* lower.Be happy!

I have low thyroid and take .5 Mg of Synthroid daily. They had me take it right up to surgery day and never stop. So this should not be a problem. I hope it is not for you also, but your doctor will let you know.
Good luck with everything, I am sure it will all go fine. I know the anxiety and worry about all the details that you go through right before just knowing that something will go wrong to delay this day that you have been waitning for. But it will happen and you will be on the other side soon.
Best wishes.

The Doc that did my pre-op assesments, found that i was hyperthyroid and upon testing further, found that i had a hot nodule. When i askled him if this would cause a problem for surgery, he said that, it was a good thing that we found this out, as being either hyper or hypo is something that requires monitoring, but, that it did not matter in regards to surgery.Vali

Tiffany--I like your daughter's nickname! From other responses I don't think you would have anything to worry about. JanetJanet
