    Tomorrow is my big day. I've read and read about everyone else getting "straightened out" and now it's finally my turn. Wish me luck!

    daughter, 12, diagnosed 8/07 with 19T/13L
    -Braced in spinecor 10/07 - 8/12 with excellent in brace correction and stable/slightly decreased out of brace curves.
    -Introduced Providence brace as adjunct at night in 11/2011 in anticipation of growth spurt. Curves still stable.
    -Currently in Boston Brace. Growth spurt is here and curves (and rotation) have increased to 23T/17L

      Jenny - I wish you all the best in the world for your surgery tomorrow - you are doing the right thing. I know I'm thrilled I had my surgery done.       Pre-surgery thoracic 55 degrees
      Pre-surgery lumbar 85 degrees

      Post-surgery thoracic 19 degrees
      Post-surgery lumbar 27 degrees

      Surgery April 1st 2010.

      Posterior spinal fusion from T9 to sacrum.
      Dr. Cronen at University Community Hospital - Tampa, FL.

        Not all diagnosed (still having tests and consults) but so far:
        Ehler-Danlos (hyper-mobility) syndrome, 69 - somehow,
        main curve L Cobb 60, compensating T curve ~ 30
        Flat back, marked lumbar kyphosis (grade?) Spondilolisthesis - everyone gives this a different grade too. Cervical stenosis op'd 3-07, minimally invasive

          61 years old--57 for surgery

          Diagnosed in 1965 at age of 13--no brace
          Thoracic Curve: 96 degrees to 35 degrees
          Lumbar Curve: 63 degrees to 5 degrees
          Surgery with Dr. Lenke in St. Louis--March 30, 2009
          T-2 to Pelvis, and hopefully all posterior procedure.

          All was posterior along with 2 cages and 6 osteotomies.

              You'll be in my thoughts and prayers... lookin' forward to that first post from you on the other side-- when you're relieved the surgery is over with, you're straighter and taller (OH YES!!!), and you're working away in the early stages of recovery. Sending cyber hugs.

              Corrected to 15°
              CMT (type 2) DX in 2014, progressing
              10/2018 x-rays - spondylolisthesis at L4/L5 - Dr. DeWald is monitoring

                          Best wishes for a smooth procedure and easy recovery. We all know what those last few hours before surgery are like. In some ways, the anticipation/anxiety is the worst part. 24 hours from now, you will have a new back! Sending you hugs!

                              Best of luck to you, Jen. Will be thinking and praying for you. Tomorrow is a hiking day for me, and I love to think of my scoli friends out there while I'm outdoors. It's quite a sisterhood (with a few great brothers thrown in the mix)!!
