:confused:

Well it has been almost four months since my back surgery and I am still in alot of pain. It hurts me somedays that I can barely stand it. I thought it would be alot better by now. But at times it feels better and at time it gives me alot of trouble and I can barely get out of bed. I am still taking lortabs and only take them at night to help the pain where I can sleep. Sometimes I wish I never had the surgery. I just was wondering if anybody ever had this much trouble after having the removal of a harrington rod and being fused almost all the way down. The pain level is on a good day is about a four to a six and on a bad day it is about a ten and that's where it stays most of the times.
Thanks in advanced for any info.

Hi,
The first thing I can tell U is that I do not believe you are taking the right medication to control your pain..Pain is real and it interfears with your daily activity and can cause a major depression..so I advise U to see a pain specialist and take it from there..I had my surgery 4 months ago and I still feel pain..I take oxicontin 2-3 times a day..It helps me functions and get on with my life..I find my pain is greater when I fist wake up, my bones are so stiff and when the day is long and the meds wore off..Please speak to a dr. that can manage your pain correctly.

Hi connie thanks for the reply:

I did go back to the Dr. this past week and he said that he wants me to start slowing up on the pain meds. But, he said the fusion is looking good and starting to fuse the way he wants it. But I am still in a alot of pain. My primary Dr. put me on some antidepressants and it seems to take my mind off of the pain (some of the time). Does anybody else have this much pain after their fusion and if so how long did it last? And was it excruciating at times... where you would just cry? I don't know how much more pain I can handle. Thanks in advance for any info....:}
