Wow - what a great scar!!!!!! Im a little over 4 weeks postop and I haven't brought myself to look at mine yet completely. But, I'm already in awe to see that my torso lines up again. I know - silly huh? And, I can't believe my ribs don't stick out so far any more. Geesh - I think Dr. Lenke truly walks on water!!!!!!

Your back looks great! Hard to tell now, that you ever had scoliosis. Your scar has faded well. It's much lighter than mine.

Jess- Your scar is great and so is your correction! Thanks for posting this pic.

Rita - I had to laugh when I read that you haven't really looked at your scar yet. It took me awhile before I looked at mine too. I just didn't want to look at it but was content with my husband's periodic assessment of it and the photos he took of it in the hospital and once we got home. I don't think I looked at the actual scar until maybe 6 weeks later.

I kind of like looking at it now, is that weird?

Jess - thank you so much for posting this picture. Since I am being fused the exact as you are T2-L1, your photo is so exciting. Your scar is minimal, so straight, no hump, and you are bending forward nicely. Oh my gosh this makes me feel good. Thank you again for sharing. Happy one year anniversary.

Jess,

what a good looking scar!! I wonder if it will continue to fade? I haven't looked at mine lately, so I'll have to take a peek.

Very nice zipper!!! You back is beautiful!!! Great job done by your seamstress.:) My scars fades more as each year passes. You can barely see the 2 scars from my ant. surgery.

Lookin' good girl,

Jess--I'm a year today and mine isn't anywhere near that faded. That's fantastic. Where my top curve is it's much wider and redder. The bottom is pretty good. What was the degree of your top curve? Janet

thanks, all!! my primary, large curve -- in my thoracic spine -- was 57 degrees at the time of surgery. now i think it's 17 degrees, and my amazing surgeon got my compensatory lumbar curve to 0 (was around 42). my scar is slightly darker in person...the photo is a bit washed out. but it's still really light and has faded well!
