Just getting ready to try to get some sleep before my first surgery tomorrow...I am a bit nervous but I'm honestly confident I'm doing the right thing. It's going to be a big change for me as I have really no pain or problems right now, other than a big curve....so it will be odd to walk into the hospital feeling good knowing when I leave there I'll be a mess.

Anyway, looking forward to getting this show on the road after 25 years of thinking about this.

Rich - I will be right where you're at in two weeks time. I also don't have that much pain right now, and it's a cruddy feeling thinking about walking into the hospital feeling fine, and coming out feeling very different. However, you and I and everyone else on here knows, that after a period of time our curves just keep on deteriorating to the point where we would be in terrible pain, badly badly deformed, and breathing affected etc., so yep, you're doing the right thing, just as I am, and like many others on here have said, they are glad they did it and wish they had done it earlier than they did. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, and all will be fabulous, let us know how you're doing as soon as you can - I'm excited for you Rich to hear all your great news afterward. God bless!

YAY Rich, so glad you feel like you're turning the corner to feeling better - I must admit I'm getting very nervous now about next week, those first few days DO sound a little scary to me. Your correction sounds FANTASTIC - can't wait to get more of an update when you feel up to it. Thanks for letting us know how it went, God bless and keep healing and feeling better :)

Glad you're so happy with the result. I got a similar result: 68 down to 22. I hope the remainder of your recovery goes smoothly!
