This is the informal calendar of upcoming surgeries. Please add posts to this thread or PM me so we can know the info... I will add to the first post as I receive the information. This still just makes me laugh.

It hasn't ever functioned correctly (okay ... I think it sort of functioned for a few months after my surgery).

Against my more logical nature I finally see why this version is better .
Fusion is NOT the end of the world.

My surgery was changed today to June 8th instead of June 9th. Could you please update on the informal calendar?

          Thanks so much!

I am tenatively scheduled for June 24 in Columbia, SC. The lady who was scheduling said I may could be moved to some time earlier that month.

I will be fused from T-4 to either L-3 or L-4. (I have to go for a CT scan Monday before he makes a final decision on where to end the fusion.)
My thoracic curve is 65 degrees, lumbar is 50 degrees.

I am 30 years old with 2 small children. I am worried about the surgery and pain control, but I'm most worried about not being able to "do" for my babies in the months after my surgery. I have a wonderful husband to help, but I will miss all the playtime and being able to do all the little things with them for a while.

                Hi Jenny-

I have the same concerns as you do. I am 31 years old and I also have 2 small children. I am having the surgery on June 8. How old are your kids? I wonder how long it will take us to be back in action where we can play with them, get them dressed, bathe them, etc. It's great that you got a surgery date. I am starting to get nervous, it's only about 3 months away! Let's keep in touch. I don't see too many people on this forum in their early 30's with young kids. I'm kind of nervous that after my surgery my kids are going to run into me and have the screws pop out or something. My son just turned 5 and my daughter is 2.

                Take care,

The care coordinator just called and rescheduled (definitely) for June 17, a week before we orginally talked about.

JenM - I have the same thoughts as you. My daughter will be 4 by then. My son will be 1 1/2. I asked about leaning over to bathe them and the doctor said I wouldn't feel like it for "a while." My daughter understands that my back is crooked and the doctor is going to make it straight, but it will be hard for her to understand the limitations afterwards. I'd love to keep in touch with you. Where are you from? Do you work or are you a stay-at-home mom.

                            Date change

Hi Susie Bee. I changed the date of my surgery from June 8th to June 15th. I decided not to take a week off work in June and hope that I'll be able to go back to work in Sept. after 12 weeks. Thanks, Joy
